Prague is notable for its architecture styles dating from different periods – baroque, rococo, gothic, Romanism and so on. The old town is really remarkable. Staromestske namesti is called the central part of the old town. Right there you could see the Astronomical Clock. This is a medieval clock with calendar and some figures moving. Tourists mostly gather to see the figures, though the clock shows also the position of the Moon and the Sun, as well as other astronomical data. Another very famous attraction is the Prague Castle. That’s a place that carries the atmosphere of the Czech kings, as well as of the Czech presidents.
When it comes to museums, Prague is like a treasury: you can choose between the Museum of decorative arts presenting impressive collection of decorative and applied arts and design from the antiquity up to the present, the National Museum, Vysehrad castle and cemetery – where Dvorak and Smetana were buried, the Museum of the artist Mucha known by his Art Nouveau works and of course, the 7th best zoo in the world – the Prague Zoo.
Though we may talk about the traditional Czech cuisine, it is the beer that the Czech Republic is notable for. The Czechs consider it their national drink. The best brands of Czech beer are: Pilsner Urquell and Budejovicky Budvar. That is according to the experts. According to me, almost any beer in the Czech Republic is great, especially when they bring it in those enormous half-liter pints and pay attention if it needs a replacement. Actually, if you drink up your glass of beer and put it on the table, that is a sign that you want another one, so be careful. It’s so hard to refuse the replacement! As they say, there is always room for one more!
